Finished, NC-17. Pre-Becoming, Buffy and Spike duke it out in a ghost town saloon. Throw in a lasso, a mechanical bull, an acid-spewing sewer beast, top-shelf whiskey and a Journey song, and the sex just writes itself. As soon as Buffy discovers he can walk again, the epic fight starts... Season 2 sitch + season 6 sexual scope + sparkling humor = Nautibitz at her best.
Pity she calls the fic "her canon swan song"!

Completed, R, future!fic. When Buffy turns 25, her slayer power is gone. She's an ordinary girl, she can't fight, can't slay vampires. And, worst of all, Spike is so afraid to hurt her he can't bring himself to make love to her. Shapinglight ingeniously rewrites Helpless premise adapting it to Scotland setting and older Buffy. The plotting is smart and the voices are spot-on.

in which Spike keeps the Suvolte eggs in the episode As You Were for Doctor Who and his team. In the sequel earlier version of Doctor Who appears again in Sunnydale to find a Key that opens portals; problem is, a certain "agent of chaos" also wants to lay his hands on the mysterious artefact :)
Great fun, full of sharp observations on TV archetypes in past and present. In the Whoverse, it takes place during Tom Baker's reign, when he was traveling with Leela; so, Buffy/Spike dynamics mirrors Doctor/Leela dynamics, with a gender reversal of protagonist and sidekick. It's a clever trick that makes the story more substantial than it looks at first sight. Buffy and Leela, two warriors with two different backgrounds have so much in common. Does it really matter who's a protagonist and who's a sidekick? Besides the "meta" level the story boasts competent plotting and good character voices; Buffy's line "It's hard enough loving one person. Why do I have to love so many?" - is particularly poignant. It's Buffy in a nutshell.

WIP, 8 chapters so far, NC-17. Timeline: 1943 and 2001 (post-Smashed) In 1943 Spike has been captured by the British army and forced, with Dru's life forfeit, to fly to France to rescue a Slayer. In 2001, Quentin Travers persuades Buffy to go back through time to 1943 to do the same thing, because the future of humanity is at stake. But can Travers be trusted? Terrific premise and an interesting exploration of moral choices Buffy faces.

About 100 000 words. NC-17, post HLOD. Spuffy. Frustrated with Spike's obsession about Buffy, Harmony makes a revenge spell on the Slayer. This spell will cause her to fall in love with the first vampire of the opposite sex that she sees. Harmony is sure that the spell will precipitate Buffy's death - but, turns out, the vampire she falls for (Spike, of course) has a weird kink. He wants to kill the Slayer in a fair fight, so he brings her to Giles and tells him to "fix" her... Funny premise and assured execution.

It is now mid-season 6, and the Scooby gang is falling apart when Ben awakens from his coma, letting loose an angry Glory. Buffy, dealing with post-death depression, bills, an "evil" Trio, and a faltering support system, now has to contend with a vengeful hellgod. Just when things couldn't get worse. (Writer's warnings: Character death. Really and seriously, this is not a happy or lighthearted fic.) Gabrielleabelle is a new writer, but her writing is very assured and solid.

WIP, 3 chapters so far. NC-17 for language mostly. Spuffy, Xander/Anya, Angel/Cordy, Willow/Oz. The fic starts as a "mirror" story: Sunnydale teenagers Buffy, Spike, Willow, Xander, Angel, Cordelia watch the popular show Joan the Vampire Slayer about Joan, Randy and their friends who fight vampires in a little town Rainypeak. On Halloween teenagers go to the costume shop and get invitations to a party organized by show's creator Jake Wheaton. As soon as they're there, a spell reverts them into their true selves. They find out that The First and The Beast have brainwashed Scoobies and Fang Gang, but Giles had found a way to disrupt their spell for a brief moment of time, so he used the show about Joan to trigger their memories and the Halloween party to gather them without raising the suspision... Terrific premise, great details, interesting character voices. Hopefully writer will finish the story. Hopefully soon.

Post-NFA, R. Dawn, who studies to be a watcher, asks Buffy to help her. She has to spend a night in an old haunted house. The resident ghost is known for his pranks: he hides his face, he can materialize and he likes to smack slayers's butts. Guess who he is. Smiles, tears and banter. The premise works great on both narrative and metaphorical level, as it turns inside out the habitual situation of Buffy being unattainable and Spike trying to reach out to her.

The way he was before he died." ...Three months after Chosen Andrew and his team of slayers found the amulet in the crater and sent it to Buffy. It proved to be a wish-fulfilling mojo and now Buffy has to deal with William Pratt while he has to deal with the new world he discovers. Interesting premise, solid plotting and well-written characters.

Finished, post-Gift, R. After Buffy's death a magical artifact sends Spike back in time (seemingly occasionally). He spends several hours in post- School Hard and in post-Innocence timelime, lands in the middle of Becoming 2 events, visits Buffy in pre-Anne timeline. As he jumps from one crucial moments of Buffy's journey to another, he realises that there should be a reason in his journey. Story is told from Spike's POV. Interesting premise, assured execution, good character voices.
This the first time I discover a plot-centric story that doesn't "fix" the situation. Time-travel fics have always been used for making things right. Writer shows another way and makes it convincingly.

He was the sort of lily-livered, squeamish pansy that men bully and women scorn, and I hated him on sight." An emotional duel between Spike and his take on William Pratt ensues... Sharp character study with great insights into Spike's mind, his fears, doubts and insecurities.

Finished, post-series, PG-13/R. A spell sends Spike and Buffy in the ancient Rome. Can Buffy's Slayer instinct and Spike's rusty Latin help them to survive and figure out who uses them and why? another very interesting experiment - to make citizens of ancient Rome speak Latin and to make their conversations decipherable - partly by making Spike explain them to Buffy, partly by using Latin words similar to English ones. This technique eerily reminds Joss Whedon's own experiments on Firefly and Serenity - when characters suddenly start speaking Chinese!

Future Fic, NC-17. Thirteen years after Spike mysteriously disappears, Xander meets him by accident in the London Underground. Where has Spike been all this time, and what is he hiding? Shadowscast creates a complex intrigue, she deftly combines magic and world of technology, and she writes the characters the way we know and love them. I don't want to spoil the story, so I only say that she takes a popular plot of classical melodrama and twists it into a funny, gripping, moving, heartbreaking tale.

Completed, NC-17, post-Seeing Red. Anya uses Buffy's slip of tongue to turn Xander into a woman. The only thing that can turn him back into a man is sex with Spike - and the latter has disappeared... Writer uses the idea of sex-as-problem-solving (a very popular premise in fluff stories) but offers a serious and dark approach by making female!Xander a virgin. In this situation sex becomes much harder physically (the chip) and emotionally (rape issues).
Lusciousxander writes the real, canonical Xander - a man who loves to be a male - and his reaction to the embarrassing situations he finds himself in sounds absolutely true. Desperation, humiliation, rage, pain, shame - everything is portrayed honestly and cleverly. Lusciousxander don't go for suspension-of-disbelief trick - she shows raw emotions and it really hurts. The story is full of small yet incredibly rich touches and the ending is bittersweet.

Great fun, full of sharp observations on TV archetypes in past and present. In the Whoverse, it takes place during Tom Baker's reign, when he was traveling with Leela; so, Buffy/Spike dynamics mirrors Doctor/Leela dynamics, with a gender reversal of protagonist and sidekick. It's a clever trick that makes the story more substantial than it looks at first sight. Buffy and Leela, two warriors with two different backgrounds have so much in common. Does it really matter who's a protagonist and who's a sidekick? Besides the "meta" level the story boasts competent plotting and good character voices; Buffy's line "It's hard enough loving one person. Why do I have to love so many?" - is particularly poignant. It's Buffy in a nutshell.

The fic starts as a "mirror" story: Sunnydale teenagers Buffy, Spike, Willow, Xander, Angel, Cordelia watch the popular show Joan the Vampire Slayer about Joan, Randy and their friends who fight vampires in a little town Rainypeak. On Halloween teenagers go to the costume shop and get invitations to a party organized by show's creator Jake Wheaton. As soon as they're there, a spell reverts them into their true selves. They find out that The First and The Beast have brainwashed Scoobies and Fang Gang, but Giles had found a way to disrupt their spell for a brief moment of time, so he used the show about Joan to trigger their memories and the Halloween party to gather them without raising the suspision... Terrific premise, great details, interesting character voices. Hopefully writer will finish the story. Hopefully soon.

As he jumps from one crucial moments of Buffy's journey to another, he realises that there should be a reason in his journey. Story is told from Spike's POV. Interesting premise, assured execution, good character voices.
This the first time I discover a plot-centric story that doesn't "fix" the situation. Time-travel fics have always been used for making things right. Writer shows another way and makes it convincingly.

Can Buffy's Slayer instinct and Spike's rusty Latin help them to survive and figure out who uses them and why? another very interesting experiment - to make citizens of ancient Rome speak Latin and to make their conversations decipherable - partly by making Spike explain them to Buffy, partly by using Latin words similar to English ones. This technique eerily reminds Joss Whedon's own experiments on Firefly and Serenity - when characters suddenly start speaking Chinese!

Completed, NC-17, post-Seeing Red. Anya uses Buffy's slip of tongue to turn Xander into a woman. The only thing that can turn him back into a man is sex with Spike - and the latter has disappeared... Writer uses the idea of sex-as-problem-solving (a very popular premise in fluff stories) but offers a serious and dark approach by making female!Xander a virgin. In this situation sex becomes much harder physically (the chip) and emotionally (rape issues).
Lusciousxander writes the real, canonical Xander - a man who loves to be a male - and his reaction to the embarrassing situations he finds himself in sounds absolutely true. Desperation, humiliation, rage, pain, shame - everything is portrayed honestly and cleverly. Lusciousxander don't go for suspension-of-disbelief trick - she shows raw emotions and it really hurts. The story is full of small yet incredibly rich touches and the ending is bittersweet.
