According to Muse Entertainment James Marsters will star in Alien Western, "a sci-fi television film about giant, vicious, alien bugs that come to earth to gorge themselves on the uranium deposits found in the ground of an Old West town". James plays Sam Danville, an outlaw who is about to be hanged when the aliens land. Sam leads a small group of survivors who fight the creatures. Principal photography began this week in Romania.
Sounds like fun. :)

Oooooh shiny!

Did you see 'Slither'? Sci-fi can be LOTS of fun. :)

Nope, I haven't watched Slithers - but I will definitely watch Alien Western. I remember I loved Starship Troopers - loved its campy sensibility, its cynical approach to humankind. I believe it was the first movie where I noticed Neil Patrick Harris.

There is something that draws together sci-fi and westerns. I entertain the idea that producers invited JM as a Joss actor - as a homage to Firefly and Serenity. I hope Alien Western will turn out to be a funny little movie.

Oh you must! I mean, not just because of Nathan Fillion, it's a genuinely fun movie - like the best B movie ever! :) (I loved Starship Troopers too. V. excellent.)

*nods* I think it's that whole frontier thing. And, of course, everyone loves cowboys.

(PS I posted fic the other day, if you missed it? Or maybe you're just rushed off your feet like me... *drags self back to RL*)

My pleasure. It's like the perfect popcorn movie - fun and entertaining and with *really* gross aliens! :)

I have not read a single seasonal_spuffy story.

Pity. There are exceptional entries in this round. Hope you'll be able to catch it up when you finish your Buffy/Immortal fic.
