Ах, хорошая погода - и меня совершенно не тянет в Сеть! И вообще неохота сидеть у компа. Вот уже три дня не могу закончить перевод последней части ВиО ДМ на Moonlight Rising.
Сегодня все-таки зашла и обнаружила на ЖЖ Аланны забавную информацию. Если я правильно поняла, какие-то умники пытаются провести в Сенате США законопроект, согласно которому запись видеосигнала с телевизора будет считаться незаконной.

Вопрос: они все окончательно рехнулись? Маразм Буша оказался заразным? Или я чего-то не поняла? Они что, конфискуют все видеомагнитофоны? И заодно все компьютеры? Потому что я, например, могу записывать телевизионный сигнал прямо на компьютере.
По-моему, они просто не понимают, во что хотят втянуть шоу-бизнес. Неужели все забыли, чем обернулся сухой закон в 30-е годы? Если они хотят превратить Америку в нацию пиратов - вперед!

Или я все-таки чего-то не поняла?

Question: is Bush's marasmus contagious?
I still can't grasp how the lobbyists plan to fulfill their new right to forbid tape-recording in case they'll get it. Are they planning to confiscate all the VCR, mp3players etc.? Do they want to make illegal a possession of VCR? And computers, too. Because I, for example, use PСTV to watch AND RECORD TV signal in electronic format (mpeg files).
I believe there was a similar situation in American history - The Prohibition in 30-es. It was reportedly the period when American people consumed the biggest amount of alcohol. The effect of forbidden fruit is overwhelming. The people who are behind the attempts to overrule the INDUCE act, can easily turn Americans into a nation of pirates.

Or maybe I don't understand it?

I thought about the same thing, the alcohol prohibition back in the 30s. Is like not taking example of a good history case. Or worst, is like not paying attention to history class at school.

Or maybe it's about paying too much attention to the history? If VCR are prohibited, who'll be able to compare what the leader of the country said or did today, yesterday or last year? People are easily convinced when they ACTUALLY see it. Who will control all the past images if VCRs are outlawed? :)
