It seems that my article was only the beginning. Today [livejournal.com profile] nirvana_1 posted her brilliant article on the same subject. People started a thread on Whedonesque . Whedon.info reprinted my article. People are debating as emotionally as they were doing it five years ago. And some fans say fandom is dead!

Oh the fandom is alive and kicking and enjoys a good kerfuffle!

I'm finding the comments on all three articles ( and the ammount of tactical deleting that's going on ) highly amusing in an alarming kind of way :)

I love the feedback I got. Really. As a person who lived in the totalitarian society I am afraid only of unanimous agreement. It's the first sign of something going very wrong.

Yeah i can understand that

I do however find it odd that certain people spent so much time deleting cookies and voting down all other viewpoints but their own,

In view of your comments here it's positively ironic!

Debate and opinion are good, and it's much more effective if you can see both sides of the argument

Of course, it's a pity that many thoughtful and balanced comments have been voted out. But the result is worth it.
These people who attack comments they voted out - they look truly ridiculous. They practically erected a monument to certain sub-fandom's mentality.
That said, I only wanted to provide the pluralism of opinions on AC. Fowler deletes comments that disagree with her so the only way was to publish one's own article. I was really surprised by the uproar my article has created.

As for the Russian-spoken part of the fandom - WE ARE ALIVE! Unfortunately, the large amount of debates takes place in private diaries on www.diary.ru
I can give you the links if you're interested. :)

I could never fathom the intricacies of browsing the diary.ru - it's one of the reasons I prefer LJ. Could you post direct links on your LJ when something interesting happens there?
