I think it's amazing that BtVS still elicits such strong emotions and urges people to write reviews and analysis. Right now, season 4 is discussed on SMGfan, season 5 - on CDS, the discussion of season 6 started on S'cubieboard. Plus - people on LJ and alt-tv also talk about BtVS.

It's so nice to read someone's thoughts on Buffy that are fresh and untainted by ship wars, Angel vs. Spike arguments, and well, everything else. Plus, there are a lot of giggle worthy comments because YOU know what's going to happen in the future. It definitely makes for fun reading. :)

You know what? I do enjoy reading a fresh view of BtVS, but so far I've disagreed with AoQ's ratings pretty much every single time! It's almost uncanny. :-)

Hey, Roby - I didn't know you have an LJ! (I feel a bit foolish about my recommendation to create an LJ account, lol!)

I often disagree with AoQ too - but I find fascinating the non-shipper angle on the show. Sometimes I think we're really become myopic and sometimes can't see the bigger picture.
I love our discussions on CDS, in safe shipper heaven, but at the same time I love debates with other shippers on SMGfan - these debates help to delve into the show more deeply.
And, of course, an opinion of a casual viever sometimes may be very unexpected!
By far, the most shocking AoQ's rating is "excellent" for "Dead Man's party".

Hi Moscow!

Well, I do thank you for your suggestion anyway! I'm not a good LJ user and I need all the advice I can get. :-)

Unfortunately, my ego is way too frail to withstand aggressive communities -- I really bruise too easily to participate in those (I tried once, and didn't even survive one post!). I can't even read certain websites! I take everything so personally... It's a pretty bad thing, I know. It does limit one's view of life -- a lot!

Oh, well... Thankfully there are enough "absolute Spike" people out there to make me feel safe & appreciated (:g:). And most of all there are people like you, who can brave the perilous waters of insane fandom, survive, and then report back home. :-)

Me, too. When Chosen aired I thought I was a freak, because I loved the ending to death while other fans were furious. But I thought it was perfect - with "Welcome to Sunnydale sign" falling into the crater and Buffy smiling. And now I see that AoQ loved the ending too and feel less freakish... :)

Thanks for doing this. I'm not sure if you noticed, but you missed the "Dirty Girls" review.

OOPS!
Thank you very much for pointing out my inexcusable omission - and providing me with an opportunity to reread the review and find new stuff in it. I'm rewatching season 1 as we discuss it on SMGfan, and I'm on The Puppet Show right now - so to read AoQ's musings about the continuation of Xander's Oedipus Rex role on Dirty Girls was quite a revelation.

P.S. I corrected my mistake. Thanks again.
