I don't believe that Joss gives a flying f*ck about Giles character myself.

I still hope that Giles will be back and his return will play an important part in the seasonal arc. *shrugs* Hope dies last.

I think Willow's motivations will turn out to be something else entirely, not just a revenge kick or some such.

ITA. I hope she is not evil and she plays a dangerous game with Harth.
