I was unsure about the Dana bit - I wondered if it sounded too obscure without explanations what these or that line means to Buffy. Angel - yes, I wanted him to step into Buffy's shoes. He has always been the elusive one, and now he has to face the elusiveness of the partner. As to not telling Spike, it's because of my writing limitations: I can't write BA in Spike's presence. When Spike is around, naughty things are bound to happen... :)
Oh, BTW, Nata - Ilya has phoned me yesterday evening, and today I'm going to pick up the comics you've sent me. I'll PM you either on LJ or on Diaries when I'll get them.
