I don't see her lost. As to lonely - I think Joss is conditioning her for Bander romance. Well, maybe not lost - but joyless. Melancholy. All career girl. As for Bander - Xander looks yummy in there. And sounds great too.
And I get the point about keeping heroes and 'ships out of the hands of Joss - he'll just make them suffer with no payoff. Fanfics would be kinder. But I'm still curious about where the Man & Co would have taken the heroes. Also, I'm afraid that B/X would mean something bad happening to Xander, and I'm fond of him...
And I'm still trying to be optimistic about "I miss that sex". Sounds so much better than "Waaaah, why did I let him do those sick things to me. Boo-hoo, all those dirty orgazms, I'm so full of self-hate, waaah". And it follows quite nicely from NLM, "I don't hate like that anymore. Not you. And not myself".
