It bore no relation to BtVS the TV show. Okay, I knew it would be different because comics are different to TV shows but this is far more juvenile than I was expecting. The military stuff really got on my nerves.
For me, it looked and sounded very season 1. Think the teaser of a feature film "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" made in 2030 for the next generation of moviegoers.
I didn't like the sex reference. I'd rather Joss hadn't bothered referring to Spike even obliquely if he was going to do it that way. Hey, I'm a cynic too about Joss and 'shipping but if that was supposed to be a Buffy quip it really fell flat in my book.
Superpowered chick misses great sex. Simple and accessible and teenager-friendly.
One thing, though, if it carries on like this it'll be very easy for me to solve the canon/not canon question for myself.
