Found out today.

Scene from 5.04 Out Of My Mind. Aired 17 Oct 2000.

“MAMA, 1881.”

Joss knew it. All the time. Knew about William and his mother. Knew it when he worked on FFL. Knew when he wrote OMWF and Lessons, when he rewrote the ending of BY.

I'm speechless.

That boggles the mind.

WOW! How did u know? How did u see? I'm speechless!

That little devil. He had the whole storyline worked out and never admitted it. Thanks so much for spotting that.

That's the tombstone he threw, wasn't it? (when he said Buffy was haunting him)

Joss is sneaky little guy isn't he? Ok, I don't know if he is little but he is sneaky and that is neat.

надо же

Пересмотрела на DVD и правда, это и написано. Но что еще интересней, именно его он вырывает с корнем и разбивает.

Came from [livejournal.com profile] spikeylover‘s pimp.

This actually isn’t all that surprising to me.

[identity profile] drusplace.livejournal.com 2005-11-04 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Me too! (from the pimp) and me neither (about the surprise!) Didn't Joss have Dawn planned from like two season before? And Joyce's death? Cool that you caught this though.

That IS mindboogling... And very intresting... And I blame [livejournal.com profile] spikeylover for coming here... :-P

But... 1881? Surely it'd've been 1880 that he killed his mum? If he'd only been missing for days when he returned to his home, and it was before they fled to Yorkshire - which was in 1880? Or have I got totally the wrong end of the stick?

Alright, I need a life :)

Hee! Nifty post.

Полностью совпадаем. Слов нет - одни невнятные звуки.

Well, it's not exactly me. I'm reading Spring Summers essays on BtVS and she mentions it.

Actually, I read about it today in old SpringSummers essay and immediately run to check on my DVD. I'm still stunned.

Oh, yes. Sometimes I want to tie him to a chair and torture him with question until he tells us all. :)

p.s. Sarah, why don't you visit our current Out of My Mind discussion on CDS?

I posted a lot of yummy JM screencaps there.

Именно. Тема одержимости и т.д.

I wonder how many hidden clues are there in all 254 episodes of BtVS and AtS.

I know! Squeeeeee! I *think* it was Spring Summer at The Soulful Spike Society who pointed it out in one of her Spike-centricity reviews!

I love, love, love my show! :)

fahrbotdrusilla - upon reflection I agree. Joss has so many surprises that it's almost a common condition of everything he does.

Only now did I bother to read the other comments and saw that you're reading her reviews. She's SO smart!

Agree. Now I think that Joss has planned out not only AtS season 6 but also AtS season 7. At least he mapped the most shocking events of these seasons.

We can always fanwank that Drusilla sired William in the end if December... :)

Exactly, I've been so stunned so maybe I was a little incoherent in my post... Joss, little bastard, he fleshes out the characters in his mind even when/if he isn't sure that he'll get the chance to explore his ideas on screen.
