I'm afraid these comics and (like all mainstream comics) written by and for men, not women, and so other sides of Spikes character I think will probably be either played down, or vanish altogether.

Yes, I noticed the tonal shift in the very first issue of BtVS. Suddenly it stopped being the show I knew and turned into a fanboy's universe with cool chicks, shiny weapons etc.
*shrugs* Beggars can't be choosers.
