I've got the impression that Fray has named her monkey after "Gates" whoever he is.

I realize that my "Gates=Giles" spec is shaky because it's based only on the assumption that this exchange between Fray and her sister has to be relevant to the overall plot because otherwise it's pointless. This dialog contains a lot of cryptic information and hardly adds anything to characters development.

But I may be wrong. I haven't read Fray and I feel disoriented in its mythology.
