Surely you jest? *g* I don't believe that Joss gives a flying f*ck about Giles character myself. I certainly don't think that any plan of Wilow's would even touch on his character, let along be an integral part of it sadly.
I'm guessing that the whole dark Will bit won't be just a simple,retread of season 6, but something completely new. In fact I think Wilow's motivations will turn out to be something else entirely, not just a revenge kick or some such.
