Have you seen him speak for that cause, for Equality Now etc.? There are clips on YuoTube. Those are not stories, there are no stories to fit those posts or those public speeches and campains. Those are his convictions, and seriously, if you watched the man speak for those causes you wouldn't be able to draw a conclusion like yours. He's very passionate about it, and pretty active politically on that front. Also do you keep track on WGA strike? Joss is one of the most active guys there. He is a politically-minded guy and wants to be involved.
