I hope you're right. So far the mood of the comic is funny, perky, and very season 1-ish. Joss main problem here is that in the end of season 7 he had created "the next generation" but in season 8 he is supposed to focus on "the old generation" - i.e. Buffy and her friends, who, by definition, are now playing Giles' role for slayerettes's Buffies. It's an interesting situation and I wonder how Joss will deal with it.
